 Facility Dog Program

Wellsville Elementary has a long history of supporting the positive impact of facility dogs in schools. Through our partnership with service dog organizations, our students and staff have experienced firsthand how these specially trained dogs can support student well-being, encourage positive relationships, and create a welcoming school environment. Our previous facility dogs have since retired after faithfully serving our school community.

We are excited to share that we are currently partnered with Susquehanna Service Dogs and are on the waitlist to welcome a new facility dog to Wellsville Elementary. We are hopeful that a new four-legged team member will join us during the 2027–2028 or 2028–2029 school year. Once a dog is matched with our school, designated staff members will complete the required training to prepare for a successful partnership.

We look forward to the day we can once again welcome a facility dog to our Polar Bear family and the many positive opportunities this program brings to our students, staff, and school community.
