School Counselor

Mrs. Heather O'Toole is the school counselor at Wellsville Elementary School.

Elementary School Counselors help students solve, or cope with, issues like: friendship, family changes, grief, problem solving, nervousness. 

School counselors are also part of the MTSS team that helps students who are struggling academically or behaviorally.

Most importantly, school counselors help to advocate for children and families. We are also a resource to help you find community resources when needed.

Mrs. O'Toole teaches a counseling lesson in each classroom once a month. Topics like friendship, feelings, social skills, and career exploration are covered. Wellsville students also learn about Northern's Profile of a Graduate Characteristics through monthly assemblies with Mrs. O'Toole.
