Wellsville Elementary Activities

Activity Advisor Statement of Purpose

*Envirothon

Sue Hoover (community member)

This is sponsored by the York County Conservation District. Students in grades 3rd through 4th participate in the elementary competition. Students in 5th grade compete in the Intermediate competitions. Students study topics related to the environment and conservation and then they compete against other teams in York County in May. Practices may occur before or after school. Study sessions may be held in the evening or weekends.


Kids Run the Nation

Korena Rosenberry and Heather Brown

The curriculum is provided by Kids Run the Nation. The team consists of 30 students in grades 3rd through 5th. They practice with coaches after school twice a week. Coaches focus on wellness through conversation. The goal is to encourage students to develop a healthy lifestyle. The students complete a 5K run as the culmination.

Kara Sweger

1. Provides a venue for all school related and newsworthy events. 
2. To strengthen their understanding of broadcast media
3. To help produce the afternoon news show
4. To write and create news clips with the use of technology to air on the broadcast


*K-Kids

Pam Roman

A student-led service club modeled after the Kiwanis International. The purpose is to develop leadership through service to the school and community. The motto of the club is service to the school, service to the community, and service to the world. The program is offered to students in grades 3rd through 5th. Activities take place after school, in the evenings, or on the weekends and can be held on or off the school site.
